This is a debut EP under the Peter Carpenter alias, a 150 hours+ labor of love. Heavily inspired by colorful neon 80s, 70s, movies like "Vanishing Point" and movie soundtracks like the beloved John Carpenter's "Escape from New York".

The concept of this EP is taking you along the journey of an outcast with a noble cause, a solitary Sunset Rider.

BACKGROUND OF RECORDING 'SUNSET RIDER' EP
I put in your hands material that is a result of over 150 hours of work. The idea to create music inspired by the 1980s has matured for over a dozen years. Several tracks were started and put into a drawer since 2007. They were not released, and they probably will never be, because they were mostly "fun projects".

For years, due to the accumulation of other music projects and the lack of inspiration, I did not take on the task of creation of original material in this genre. In the end, I dared and was encouraged by the comeback of nostalgic synth sounds, which began to be noticeable even in pop culture. "Stranger Things" and its soundtrack performed by Michael Stein, Kyle Dixon, of course added fuel to the fire.

I am an older millennial and soaked up American movies from the 80s on VHS, music on reel to reel and cassette tapes was my everyday life, I absorbed synthesizer sounds since kindergarten times.

In the end, however, I was inspired by the theme - perhaps repeated ad nauseam in synthwave music, but incredibly graceful - a lonely drive of an outcast that fights alone against the world with a help of his classic powerful car. We need heroes like that in these wicked times. Such idealized ones. So in my music you will find echoes of "Vanishing Point", "Knight Rider", "Miami Vice", "Escape from New York" or whatever else comes to mind.

The first project I started working on was "Home" track, which in the end did not enter the EP, but I will certainly release it in the future.
